The Young Socialist was the publication of the Lanka Sama Samaja Party youth group in Ceylon (not Sri Lanka). Arguably the most powerful Trotskyist party in the world in the 1940s through the early to mid 1960s, this magazine, printed in English, was an attempt to recruit among the newly radicalizing youth in Ceylon beginning in the early 1960s through at least 1970. Presented here is a large sampling of the available issues from the collection at the Holt Labor Library. We are missing several issues in this run and we do not know when the last issue was actually published.
