We Marxists support the oppressed against the oppressors, whatever the ideological barbarism and the operational savagery of the former, and whatever the intellectual sophistication of the latter.

With these premises we defend the Palestinians carrying out the terrible suicide attacks against the criticism and especially against the repression of the imperialists and Zionists. But we neither share nor support those methods, and not only because we reject terrorism against civilian population.

We criticize the suicide attacks in defense of the Palestinian youth who carry them out; fighters who do not deserve to turn their lives into an explosive device. The combative and revolutionary youth is the fighter of today, but it must also be the builder of tomorrow. Revolutionary politics has at its disposition a very wide arsenal of far more effective methods than for the militants to blow themselves up as so much cannon fodder. This “method” betrays at every step the failure of the politics inspiring it, which seeks for a way out with as few changes as possible in the regional and international capitalist order. The Palestinian petty bourgeois direction and its Islamic competitor, both of which have capitulated so many times to Zionism and imperialism, and continue to do it every day, won’t be able to hide with this intolerable sacrifice their historical responsibility for their political cowardice towards imperialism and the Arabic and Zionist bourgeoisies.

Palestinian comrades: If you immolate yourselves today, who will build the unavoidable united, secular and socialist Palestine of the future?
