“We are going to build a strong revolutionary youth movement for the 1980s, and we need you to join us.
“At our Third Conference, young people from many different nationalities and backgrounds discussed how we are going to make the CYO into a fighting organization with a broad appeal to many young people. We believe this is especially important now, at a time when all the capitalist politicians and fascist groups like the Klan are trying to make special appeals to the youth.
“Most recently, we have had to fight the racist hysteria and phony patriotism whipped up around the Iran crisis. We have to defeat the efforts of these reactionaries to get us to join their armies as they prepare for war. We must combine this with the fight against unemployment and all the cutbacks produced by the economic crisis.
“We believe the fight against the capitalists must be carried out in many ways. In addition to practical action and. education, the CYO wants to develop young people’s skills at theatre, sports, music, dance and art to develop a real people’s culture.
“We need CYO chapters on campuses and in communities all across the country. Any young person who wants to fight the capitalists and study Marxism is welcome to join with us. Ain’t no stopping us now!
