My Dear Sellier:

It is only today that I became aware of the Bulletin Communiste of April 18[1]. You won’t be surprised that I am sending in y resignation as editor of L’Humanité and head of the social life section.

It is only natural that the central organ of the party exactly reflects the thinking of the majority of the Central committee.

It is only natural that I leave to comrades sharing those same thoughts the functions I have fulfilled for the past year.

As a simple party member I will be able to more freely defend my point of view.

I shake your hand.

1. In the article “Against the International Right” in the Bulletin Communiste of April 18 Treint accused Monatte of having ties to the Russian Opposition and of being in favor of Trotsky’s theses.
